Following the success of last year’s USA vs. England polo match at Morven Park last spring, the Second Annual America’s Cup of Polo will be held there this Saturday, May 10th, with the U.S. team this time facing off against Italy. The weekend will kick off on Friday evening with a black tie optional party (to be televised) that will have a USA vs. Italy culinary competition, Virginia wine tasting, a fashion show, and a concert by the Gipsy Kings Family.
Saturday, the polo match will take place at 3:35, but the day will also include a United States Coast Guard helicopter show at halftime, concerts by Italian tenor Vittorio Grigolo, and Huey Lewis and the News, and fireworks to cap off the night. Visit www.americaspolocup.com for more details or to purchase tickets. Children 12 and under are admitted free, and the proceeds from the event will benefit Journey for the Cure, which supports the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, among other charities.
Cheers!
Heather
