From David Oakley at his World Champions Karate school in Leesburg:
As you may have heard, WCK has 5 students who earned spots on the US Karate Team. Congrats to Dan Venezia, Melissa Lohaus, Colby Oakley, Brett Morris, and Michele Kasen. They will be traveling to Orlando, FL this November to compete against people from all over the World.
The US Karate Team does not have a sponsor. Therefore, every competitor will have to pay for all expenses related to the World Championships. They’ll have to purchase team uniforms, gear, airline tickets, hotel expenses and tournament registration fees. Each competitor will need about $2500.
To help out, we have arranged a dinner night at Fuddruckers. Fuddruckers in Ashburn will give a portion of the night’s sales between 4 and 8 pm to the team. Our night is Monday August 11th. Please print the *attached flyer* and bring it with you. If people don’t present the flyer at checkout, we won’t get credit.
Please help support our US Karate Team members!
Also, if you participate, you will receive a coupon for 50% off a one year program at the Karate school…if you are thinking of enrolling your child in a program, this would be a fantastic way to meet the DOWCK family! I’ll be there!
* Email me and I’m happy to send you the flyer!
Cheers,
Heather
