I was perusing the ‘legals’ section of the Leesburg Today from January 30th (the Leesburg Today is the ‘paper of record’ where all legal notices must be published for this area) and came across a substitute trustees sale for three parcels, containing about 163 acres. From the looks of it,  there are three parcels of land that were being held by Equity Homes that are going up for public auction on February 18, 2009, at 11 in the morning. Equity Homes was a builder that ‘ceased business operations’ last year, leaving several subdivisions in various stages of not finished.  (I wrote about it at the time.)

You can find more information about the sale at www.tranzon.com, the website for the company that is conducting the auctions.  Just register with them and you can download the full information packet.  Apparently one of the tracts was set up to be the Mosby Ridge subdivision, off of Charles Town Pike.  All three tracts are being auctioned as a unit and they all seem to be in the same area off Charles Town Pike, near Route 9.

Another ad detailed an auction set for the Eagle Creek Subdivision land that Equity Homes held as well, to take place at 11:30 a.m. on February 18th; that auction will be for 13 lots, including two finished homes: a Sheffield model on lot 9 and a Preston model on lot 12.  The unimproved lots are offered  “individually and as an entirety.” I can’t tell if both of the completed homes are being offered together or separately. (or how ‘completed’ they are, for that matter)

No word on the lots at the Highlands at Round Hill, another Equity Homes subdivision left unfinished when the company went out of business last year.

I’ll post more after the auctions as the information becomes available.

I realize that Equity Homes is out of business. Do you have any idea on how to get one of their plans? I am very interested in their Lancaster II model but cannot find it anywhere on the web. Is there a way to contact the former owner or someone that was involved with Equity Homes?

    Thanks

Can you poin me in the right direction? I am looking for plans for the Lancaster 2 elevation with side sunroom and side loading garage as was built in the Golf Estates community in Laytonsville Maryland. If you have access to them, could you please forward me a copy of the plans or let me know how to get a plan.

My wife and I are finally ready to start building and fell in love with the Lancaster II Home. Is there any way to get a copy of the plans? I am not looking for the floor plans which we have had for years – but actual building plans.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Hi Jamie! Unfortunately, since the builder is out of business, I am not sure where you could get those building plans. I have no idea who did the architectural design work for Equity when they were in business; I’d assume they would have the plans on file. Let me do a little digging and see if I can figure out who the architect was…

      Heather,

I found this site and email string and am hoping that you can help me. We are purchasing an Equity Lancaster II home in Deepwood Farms in Clifton. If possible, could you please email a copy of the floor plans and the contact information for the architect.

      Thanks so much in advance

      • admin says:

        Gretchen,
I will send those over to you via email. Congrats on your new home!

        ~Heather

        • Gr etchen says:

Thanks so much Heather, I really appreciate it. You don’t know who has the architetural designs for the actual lots in the Deepwood Farm Subdivision do you?

          • admin says:

I don’t have those, but I would think that if you went to the records division at your county they would have the original plat on file with the placement of the home on the lot. Are you just looking for the home you are buying?

  10. admin says:

    Jamie,
Look for an email from me with information on how to contact the architect directly.
