LoCo News: County Fair, Newspaper Folds, Play Ball, Lowe’s in Leesburg?

Here’s a wrapup of some news worth noting in LoCo lately….

• Don’t forget that the Loudoun County Fair is going on now!  Located off of Dry Mill Road in Leesburg, the fair runs until Sunday. We’ll be there tonight!

• The proposal to put a minor league baseball stadium at Kincora (located at the intersection of Routes 28 and 7 in Ashburn/Sterling) was approved by the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors after hall of famer Brooks Robinson showed up to speak in support.

• After 40 years in publication, the Loudoun Easterner newspaper has ceased publication. Another one bites the dust, sadly.

• Rumor has it that Lowe’s has purchased a piece of land at Battlefield Parkway and Route 7 in Leesburg (near the new Village of Leesburg) with intentions of building a store there. We’ll keep an eye on this to see if it pans out…
