Ashburn Farm

102 52722 Ashburn Farm

In 1986 Cavalier Land Development broke ground on Ashburn Farm with a goal to  blend the design with the rolling terrain of the former Gray Dairy Farm.  The result was winding boulevards, mature trees and a suburban feel minutes from Dulles International Airport and a short drive to Washington D.C.

Totaling over 1300 acres, Ashburn Farm’s borders are defined by the Dulles Greenway, Belmont Ridge Road, Ashburn Road, and the W&OD Trail. There are 3844 homes in the neighborhood, including 1806 single family and 1416 townhomes.

Community amenities are extensive and feature 19 tot lots, 5 ponds stocked with fish (catch and release), and 28 miles of bike and exercise trails. There are 3 outdoor swimming pools, one of which boasts a reclaimed windmill from the original estate, 12 tennis courts, 8 basketball courts, 2 soccer fields, 1 baseball field, and 1 beach volleyball court. Those are all in addition to the fields and playgrounds of the five schools located within the community.

    Commuting from LoCo to DC?

Working with so many clients relocating to Loudoun over the years, I had plenty of opportunity to see firsthand how much of a role commuting distance played in the homebuying decision. With so many residents of Loudoun commuting to Herndon, Reston, Tysons/McLean, and into DC itself, the amount of time spent trying to get from […]

LoCo Market Update: Whatcha Waiting For?

Don’t be distracted by the gnarly old tree, this is a picture of a fence. They are uncomfortable to sit on and people tend to be on one side or the other. It sure seems like this is where all the buyers are right now and it’s kinda tough to understand. Let’s take a look… […]

    Halloween Spooktaculars Close to Home

That picture is a few of the girls on the softball team I coach (including Natalie) as they were leaving the Field of Screams. After our tournament in Olney, MD we took a team field trip through the Paintball Apocalypse and the Trail of Terror and had a blast. It’s not for the faint of heart, but all the girls […]

Summer Baseball and Softball Camps in LoCo

Over the last eleven years I’ve spent thousands of hours coaching girls softball. Mostly my own daughter’s teams, and maybe a friend’s child or two along the way. This summer I will have the privilege to relay a little of that knowledge to all of my Fielder’s Choice campers. If you are looking for a […]

This came through from LCPS and we thought it was worth sharing: All 12 of the Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) high schools eligible to be ranked nationally by The Washington Post’s Challenge Index received this honor in 2014. (John Champe High School is not yet eligible to be ranked.) The Challenge Index, conceived by […]
