Purcellville Neighborhoods

111 0764 Village Case

The Village Case neo-traditional community opened in 2004, with  Michael Harris Homes and Patowmack Homes as the original builders.  The neighborhood is graced by homes with big front porches set close to brick sidewalks, detached garages behind the homes, and architectural details echoing the historic districts of Loudoun’s towns.

Five years after the first houses were built, a  new crop of builders stepped in to finish constructing homes on the land which was once Case Farm. Carrington Homes is currently offering several home types on both large and small lots near the rear of the neighborhood.

The neighborhood has several homes that front to Maple Avenue, and is located near Blue Ridge Middle School. An open park area in the center of the neighborhood was originally to be bordered by smaller shops with living space above, though those plans have apparently been set aside for now.

    It’s Time For Pumpkin Chunkin’

Last year I took the girls up to Wayside Farm in Berryville to grab our pumpkins and wrote about all the fun we had. It’s time to make another trip up there, the farm opens tomorrow. If you’ve got kids under 12 they’ll definitely enjoy it. Cheers, Mike

    Dinner at TRIO

One of the perks of writing LoCoMusings is an occasional invitation to try new restaurants. A couple of weeks ago Heather and I accepted one of those invitations and had dinner at TRIO Grill in Merrifield. In in the interest of transparency most of our meal was covered, but I can promise you we will definitely be […]

How to DIY Your Dream Home

There are a ton of shows on HGTV right now about people buying a fixer upper and turning it into their dream home. Admittedly Heather and I love watching them, partly because we talk about doing it ourselves but mostly because it’s cool to see the transformation. The Realtor in me wondered how these folks are paying for […]

May marked the third straight month where volume has been down compared to 2013 with 33 fewer homes sold. There were […]

    LoCo Update: Midyear Luxury Report

We currently have a beautiful home for sale on Black Gold Place in Beacon Hill. The list price is $849,000 and as we have been updating our clients on the market activity one thing is clear, the pool of buyers seems to have shrunk! So far this year, 54 homes have sold between $800,000 and $999,000. Two […]

    Strawberry Fields Don’t Last Forever

In elementary school our kids all took field trips to Great Country Farms (GCF) in Bluemont. They were able to live the life of a farm hand for a day and it gave them an appreciation for the amount of work it takes to run a farm. Maddie fell in the pond during hers and came […]
