Coney Island Diner Opens in Purcellville

    Coney Island Diner

As I was out and about in Purcellville yesterday, I came across an open Coney Island Diner. We knew it was on the way, just missed the memo it actually opened three weeks ago. This makes two Coney Island Diners in LoCo, the original opened in Ashburn during the fall of 2009.

I had a chance to chat with the staff this morning, and figured I should try out breakfast for our readers. The 2’s are Wild was excellent, the servers were friendly, and the food was quick too. I’m definitely looking forward to the full menu being available in the next week or so. Here’s a picture of the main dining area:

And of course no diner would be complete without an eat-in counter…

Let us know if you have a chance to try it out, I’d be interested to hear what you think.

My wife and I had dinner at the diner last week and I have to tell you it was lousy at best. The meat loaf had little flavor with too thick gravy that was also tasteless (I scraped it off). The green beans were weirdly seasoned and I didn’t eat those either. The (real) mashed potatoes were not too bad, but I sensed they had been extended with instant potatoes. It will be awhile before I try them again.
