Hirst Farm community in Purcellville

The Scoop:

The Hirst Farm neighborhood in Purcellville was built between 2000 and 2009 by K Hovnanian homes, at the height of Loudoun County’s explosive growth. The community includes 240 single-family homes on 1/4 to 1/2 acre lots. Because it is situated right next to Locust Grove, and the home styles are similar, it’s easy to confuse the two neighborhoods. The majority of Hirst Farm is located south of A street, but 50 homes on the north side directly border Locust Grove. All of the homes are center hall colonial style, with at least a two-car garage. Many have front porches, and the neighborhood sidewalks allow for lots of strolling around. For all the readers, on the edge of the community, you’ll find the Hirst Farm Free Library which includes a small stand where you can find all different kinds of books.

Since there are no traditional community amenities beyond common area maintenance and snow removal, the monthly HOA fee is very affordable. You can find more details on the HOA website here.

With a location in the heart of Purcellville, Hirst Farm is close to both Emerick Elementary and Blue Ridge Middle Schools – each are less than half a mile away. Neighborhood teenagers attend Loudoun Valley High School, which is less than two miles away. Fireman’s Field and the Purcellville Skating Rink are also in close proximity. The community has been working on bringing fiber internet to the neighborhood, and per the HOA update, that project could be completed by the end of 2022. Just down the road, you’ll find Loudoun Golf & Country Club, West End Wine Bar & Pub, and Anthony’s Italian Restaurant.
