Ashburn Village

The Scoop:

If you want to know what it’s like to live in Ashburn, the Village is the prime example, as it was the original planned community in Loudoun. Ashburn Village, which opened in 1988, is the largest Loudoun neighborhood, with more than 5300 homes on 1500 acres. Similar to the neighboring Ashburn Farm community, the Village contains numerous sub-neighborhoods, each with their own distinct architecture and feel. (There are a handful of sub-associations, too.)

You can find whatever type of home you are looking for, whether that’s a large single family home, cozy condominium, or something in between. With Pavilion Lake in the middle of the community, you can even find a home with a water view–a rare thing in Loudoun!

The homeowner’s association maintains a website with ample information about the neighborhood and everything within it. Also, the association posted a cool video with aerial views of the community.

What We Love:

One of the main attractions is the impressive Sports Pavilion. With 32,000 square feet, there’s something for everyone:

• indoor and outdoor pools
• exercise, aerobic, and Advanced Training Center
• sauna and steam rooms
• full-size gym
• racquetball and squash courts
• outdoor tennis facilities enclosed for winter play
• locker rooms, pro shop, and nursery
• marina for non-motorized boating

Other amenities include 7 additional stocked ponds, 3 outdoor pools, 3 community centers, tennis courts, tot lots, and many miles of walking/ biking trails. And, you don’t have to be a community resident to buy a membership- they even have special rates for folks that are renting in the neighborhood. Non-resident rates start at $75 a month, tenant rates begin at $38 a month.
