Heather Knolls is a picturesque neighborhood of 60 homes just outside of Hamilton, characterized by large floorplans on 3 to 5-acre lots and rolling open countryside. These homes were built between 2002 and 2015, and range between 3,000 and 6,000 finished square feet above grade (plus finished basements in many of them…big homes!) If you are looking for higher than typical bedroom and bathroom counts, these homes might be a good fit: the majority have at least 4 bathrooms. While the characteristics of these homes are very attractive, another aspect of the neighborhood is its location. After being built, the neighborhood and town flourished around it. Just down the road, you’ll find many family-owned businesses including The Hamilton, Ivy Hall Bed and Breakfast, and Eclectic Charm Antique Store.
Since there are no community amenities, some homeowners have added in-ground pools and spas to their ample backyards. We’ve had the chance to tour many of these homes over the years, and the generous floorplans include plenty of entertaining space and gourmet kitchens. Being just outside of town, the Heather Knolls neighborhood provides cozy, comfortable living while still offering a neighborhood feel. The town of Hamilton gives way to the Washington and Old Dominion Trail (WO&D), the Hamilton Community Center, and Scott Jenkins Memorial Park for any and all outdoor activities. For all my food lovers out there, you can find the Hamilton Station Gastropub and Lowry’s Crab Shack.
