Ashburn Real Estate
Thinking of living in Ashburn, Virginia? Ashburn is a still-growing town in the heart of Loudoun County, between Dulles Airport and Leesburg. Covering roughly 17 square miles, the town is home to more than 43,000 residents (as tallied in the 2010 census). Currently, Ashburn has 16 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, and 5 high schools– we’ve linked to all of their websites at the bottom of this page.
Ashburn isn’t just homes, though. As part of the Dulles Technology corridor, a significant portion of the world’s internet traffic flows through local server farms. George Washington University and Strayer University have satellite campuses there. George Mason University is reportedly planning a location as well, when the Silver Line Metro expansion is completed in mid-2020. And the Washington Redskins practice facility is in Ashburn, too.
What We Like:
From a real estate standpoint, there is definitely something for everyone in Ashburn. Each neighborhood has a distinct architectural style and flavor. Looking for an established neighborhood with mature trees and landscaping? Ashburn Farm or Ashburn Village might appeal to you. Want a newer community with built-in amenities? You might prefer Broadlands, Brambleton, or One Loudoun.
Ashburn has grown tremendously since we moved here in 1999. In fact, Money.com ranked Ashburn #2 in the nation in the 2018 Best Places to Live list, citing community energy, smart growth plans, and “richness of schools.” Hanging on to that community spirit is a great accomplishment considering Loudoun was the fastest growing county in the country in the early 2000s.
