River Creek Neighborhood: Loudoun Communities

The Scoop:

River Creek is a gated golf course community in Leesburg bordering the Potomac River with over 1,100 homes. You can choose from single family homes and townhomes in a wide variety of styles and sizes.  Homes were first completed in the neighborhood in 1997 and the last home was built in 2008. Styles include traditional colonial single family homes, luxury townhomes with elevators, traditional three level townhomes, and patio homes. Homes with views of the golf course or the Potomac River can fetch higher prices.

There are lots of facets that make this neighborhood special; in addition to maintaining 50% of the 600+ acres in the community as undeveloped, open land, the community is also home to Confluence Park, a privately maintained park at the meeting of Goose Creek and the Potomac River. The park includes a tot lot, picnic tables, grills, tennis courts, basketball and sand volleyball courts, storage for canoes and kayaks, and a floating dock for boat launching and fishing.

Buying a home in the neighborhood comes with a membership to River Creek Club; although there are no initiation fees the cost of membership runs $190 a month (as of 2019). Your HOA dues include common area maintenance and trash removal, and the social membership at the club, according to the association website, includes “access to the clubhouse itself with a full service restaurant, bar, golf pro shop and meeting rooms. Membership also enables residents to use the pool and tennis court complex, including a fitness center.” If you are interested in a golf membership, there are varying membership levels to choose from. The golf course is an 18 hole Ault-Clark designed championship course.
