The Scoop
The Village of Waterford is another quaint and historic Loudoun town. It’s located northwest of Leesburg– from Route 7, take the exit for Route 9 and you’ll be there within a few miles!
The town was founded in 1833 as a Quaker settlement and is now a designated National Historic Landmark. Many of the early structures (and the ambiance of olden days) have been preserved in the town. Each year during the first weekend of October, visitors flock to the area for the Waterford Homes Tour and Crafts Exhibit. The fair includes demonstrations by craftsmen, entertainers, food, and of course the historic homes tour.
We are very fond of this particular town , as we celebrated our oldest daughter’s wedding at Scarlet Springs Farm. The venue is just outside the village, and is known for their very cute mini-Highland cows. (Most memorable wedding photos ever!)
More than 1800 residents live in and around Waterford. Outside of the historic district and some older established neighborhoods, there are several newer construction communities with stunning scenic views. One of those neighborhoods is pictured below.
