Countryside Neighborhood in Sterling Virginia, Loudoun County

The Scoop:

You can’t help but fall in love with the jewel-box Victorian homes in the CountrySide neighborhood in Sterling! Homes began to pop up in this master planned community in 1981, and the last homes were completed in 1991. What was once 1,000 acres of open farmland was subdivided into the community of just over 2,500 homes, including 1253 single family homes, 1168 townhomes, 16 manor homes, and 102 condominium units. Pulte Homes built most of the homes in the neighborhood.

What We Love:

The neighborhood amenities are impressive: 3 pools, 5 tennis courts, 10 tot lots, 2 basketball courts, a catch and release pond, and nearly 10 miles of walking trails. You can find a map of all the amenities here. The best kept secret about the community, though, is HorsePen Run Wetland Nature Preserve, 370 acres of protected land for CountrySide residents’ enjoyment. Located roughly behind Algonquian Elementary and River Bend Middle schools, the preserve is a true nature sanctuary, with 12 different trails of varying lengths. Per the community website, they ask that you take nothing but photographs and leave nothing but footprints: motorized vehicles, horses, hunting, camping, fires, and alcohol are prohibited.

We’ve sold numerous homes in the community, and our clients tended to be attracted by the tree lined lots, ample amenities, and lovely landscaping. A drive through the community showcases the different architectural styles and, in the springtime, the blooming trees and flowers throughout the neighborhood. For a full description of amenities, events, and community information, you can find the neighborhood’s website here.
