The Scoop:
The Leesburg Country Club neighborhood popped up on the south side of Leesburg in the late 1960′s. Homes border what was originally the Leesburg Country Club golf course, but then became Westpark Golf Club. The golf course opened in 1968, with the first homes were constructed right after that. Architectural styles in the neighborhood run the gamut. There are ramblers and raised ramblers, split levels and split foyers, dutch colonials and colonials. The streets are wide, with sidewalks allowing for long walks, and many homes have inviting front porches.
The neighborhood winds up and back into the hillside, away from Route 15. Many have stunning views of what was the golf course. The mature trees throughout the neighborhood and on the surrounding hillside provide a lovely show of spring blooms and fall foliage. There is no homeowners association, but community is still maintained beautifully and is very close knit.
The golf course closed several years back. After lots of back and forth, the land was purchased and gifted to the town of Leesburg, and is now open space. Neighboring communities include Meadowbrook Farm, Greenway Farms and Woodlea Manor.
What We Love:
There aren’t too many neighborhoods in Loudoun County without HOA oversight that also have amazing lot views and well maintained homes. Given the variety of home types and sizes, this community is great for finding something that fits your style and your budget. The homes in this neighborhood are typically some of the most affordable in Leesburg. Also, the location is great for heading to downtown Leesburg or a quick jump onto the Greenway for a commute to work. The open space of what was the golf course now gives many neighborhood homes a quiet and scenic view.
