The Scoop:
Locust Grove is a neighborhood of around 200 single family homes in the heart of Purcellville, Virginia. Most are three story, center hall colonial design, with two car attached garages and quarter acre lots. Homes were built from 1999 through 2004 by Washington Homes. The vibrant homeowners association hosts events, including mixers and their annual Halloween party, and keeps residents involved with activity groups and clubs. One side of the neighborhood is within walking distance of Emerick Elementary School, while the front of the neighborhood now has sidewalks connecting to Blue Ridge Middle School. Also nearby is the Purcellville Skating Rink (Bush Tabernacle) and Fireman’s Field.
The neighborhood was built on the land surrounding Locust Grove, a fieldstone manor home built in the 1800s that is on the National Register of Historic Places. Just down the road, the community sits nearby downtown Purcellville, full of family owned restaurants and shops including The Local Cut, BKD Bagels, Coach’s Corner, and plenty more. If you are someone who loves the small town feel, this neighborhood is perfect for you. With all of the events hosted by the HOA (homeowners association), the community feels just that, a community.
