Around the Block Books Moves to New Location

Around the Block Books

We are a family of readers, and despite our love of technology there is no substitute for turning the pages on a great book. One of our favorite family activities was to hang out at Borders in Sterling, searching for new authors and just hanging out. We were sad to see it close, but when we discovered Around the Block Books in Purcellville almost two years ago all was well.

Run by the mother and daughter team of Alice Hoefnagels and Laura Chernow, the shop represents everything we love about life in Western LoCo. Always met with a friendly smile and welcome, Alice and Laura go out of their way to take care of their customers. Not only can you can grab a book, but you can enjoy coffee from Winchester Roasters and pastries from Joy’s Dream Bakery. Their new location above Trail’s End Bike Shop offers plenty of room to kick back and enjoy your new purchase. In addition to new and used books, writing workshops, tutoring, and book clubs are also available.

You can follow along on their Facebook page to stay in touch with the latest goings on, maybe I’ll catch you there.

Cheers,
Mike
