The Scoop:
Thinking of living in Ashburn, Virginia? Ashburn is a still-growing town in the heart of Loudoun County, between Dulles Airport and Leesburg. Covering roughly 17 square miles, the town is home to more than 44,000 residents (as tallied in the 2020 census). Currently, Ashburn has 16 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, and 5 high schools– we’ve linked to all of their websites at the bottom of this page.
Ashburn isn’t just homes, though. As part of the Dulles Technology corridor, a significant portion of the world’s internet traffic flows through local server farms. George Washington University and Strayer University have satellite campuses there. George Mason University is reportedly planning a location as well, when the Silver Line Metro expansion is completed. And the Washington Commanders practice facility is there, too.

Ashburn has grown tremendously since we moved here in 1999. In fact, Money.com ranked Ashburn #5 in the nation in the 2021 Best Places to Live list, citing economic opportunity, projected job growth, and position as “the bullseye of America’s internet.”
