If you enjoyed the Fall Color Tour in October, you are sure to love the Spring Farm Tour this weekend in Loudoun. Held this Saturday and Sunday, May 21st and 22nd, the farm tour is a self guided romp introduction to Loudoun’s spring growing season, with locations open across the county. Participating farms this spring include:
- Ballentine Farm (who played host to my daughter’s 2nd grade class this month)
- Catoctin Creek Distillery (one of my favorites, of course)
- Bluemont Vineyards
- Fabbioli Cellars
- Great Country Farms
- Hunter’s Run Wine Barn
- Quarter Branch Farm
- Tarara Winery
- Wegmeyer Farms (have you had their strawberries? Yum!)
- …many more…
There is a full interactive map on the Loudoun Farms website, so you can plan out your journey. Enjoy a glass of wine, pick some fresh strawberries, buy some local grown flowers. There’s a little something for everyone, across the county. Aside from farms and vineyards, several other local spots are participating, like the Heritage Farm Museum, Natural Mercantile, and the Philomont General Store. The weather forecast for this weekend is calling for sunshine and mid-80’s, so it should be perfect. Have a blast!
Cheers,
Heather
