Pretty excited to get this press release from the folks at the Alamo Cinema Draft House at One Loudoun. Construction is two thirds of the way complete, the exterior walls are up, roof is installed, and electric and plumbing are slated for the next two weeks. They’ve got pictures up on facebook showing the progress, and the latest is of the kitchen floor being poured. Once the theater is finished it will seat 792 in eight auditoriums with state-of-the-art AV equipment.
For those of you like me who have never experienced an Alamo Drafthouse, here’s the skinny. The concept is a cinema-eatery with first run Hollywood screenings, independent films, and unique programming ranging from sing-alongs to classics to lost or under-seen cinematic gems. There is no traditional front row, supposedly guaranteeing everyone a great viewing experience.
Opening in May, Alamo is planning a series of events for the new theater, including festivities surrounding the release of several eagerly anticipated summer blockbusters, sneak previews with discounted tickets and half-priced food, and Alamo’s famous “Rolling Roadshow” events.
As a huge movie fan, I can’t wait to check it out. Those of you that have been to one, any thoughts?
New construction is under way by Camberly Homes, Miller & Smith, and NV Homes and there are already residents settled in at One Loudoun. How would you like to be able to walk to the movies, dinner, or a minor league baseball game? Give me a shout to set up an appointment, having gone through the process of building a home twice we’d love to offer our expertise.
Cheers,
Mike
