Lansdowne

Lansdowne Town Center

Bridging the gap between Leesburg and Ashburn, Lansdowne began development  in the late 1990’s. Originally a  resort with a golf course and spa, the community has quickly become one of the most desired locations in Loudoun featuring homes built by Basheer & Edgemoore, Beazer Homes, Brookfield, Centex, NV Homes, and Van Metre.

A hub activity, the Town Center is a mix of retail, restaurants, and office space, surrounded by condos and town homes. Residents here have the luxury of being within walking distance to Panera, Starbucks, and Harris Teeter. If you are in the neighborhood, stop by and say hi to our chiropractor, Dr. Chad Parsons, at Advanced Corrective Chiropractic.

The focal point of the community is the 30,000 square foot Potomac Club complex. Amenities include: 25 meter indoor pool, heated whirlpool and locker rooms, outdoor resort style pool with spa, exercise and aerobics rooms, business center, meeting rooms, a ballroom facility, and a game room with pool table, television, air hockey table, foosball and video games.

Also included in the neighborhood is Leisure World, an exclusive 55+ community close to the resort which overlooks the Potomac River and the original golf course.

LoCo Real Estate Year in Review for 2014

After a strong 2013 which saw sales rise 21% most of us in the real estate industry were expecting a banner year for 2014. It didn’t quite turn out that way, however a strong fourth quarter has us optimistic for a better 2015. Let’s take a look… Our first chart shows a month by month breakdown of the actual […]

Most Expensive Homes Sold in LoCo, 2014

This is one of my favorite posts to write and always one of our most popular. Only the top seller this year would have cracked 2013’s top 5 but all signs point to a bounce back for the 2015 real estate market. Let’s get to it, here are the top 5 most expensive homes sold in LoCo for […]

    Tuscarora Football Has Something Special

I’m a firm believer that youth sports are about a lot more than what happens on the field or the court. They are a great way to teach our kids lessons which can last their entire lives. Things like working hard, learning to lead, and being accountable for your actions. Sure there are other ways […]

On Your Mark, Get Set, Trot!

In the land of overachievers that is LoCo, there is no way fitness takes a backseat. No matter how hot or cold it gets we see runners, walkers, and cyclists on the streets. Even though we aren’t a family of runners it’s hard not to notice the number of Turkey Trots in our area. Around the […]

    Commuting from LoCo to DC?

Working with so many clients relocating to Loudoun over the years, I had plenty of opportunity to see firsthand how much of a role commuting distance played in the homebuying decision. With so many residents of Loudoun commuting to Herndon, Reston, Tysons/McLean, and into DC itself, the amount of time spent trying to get from […]

LoCo Market Update: Whatcha Waiting For?

Don’t be distracted by the gnarly old tree, this is a picture of a fence. They are uncomfortable to sit on and people tend to be on one side or the other. It sure seems like this is where all the buyers are right now and it’s kinda tough to understand. Let’s take a look… […]

    Halloween Spooktaculars Close to Home

That picture is a few of the girls on the softball team I coach (including Natalie) as they were leaving the Field of Screams. After our tournament in Olney, MD we took a team field trip through the Paintball Apocalypse and the Trail of Terror and had a blast. It’s not for the faint of heart, but all the girls […]

How Much Home for $400K, June 2014

It’s not unusual for this segment of the market to be the most active, however 40% more listings than the next closest price range is kind of surprising. If you are searching for a home in the $400,000 ball park, you have 178 of the 1548 total homes currently on the market from which to choose. (As shown in the […]
