I’ve probably said it here before but I am a huge movie buff. When we built our house the only thing I wanted was to make sure we had a home theater. Last week Heather and I watched Two Guns with Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg. It’s about two undercover agents who are trying to bust a Mexican drug cartel and recover millions of dollars. There’s a scene where Edward James Almos’ character is asking Denzel Washington for a 1963 Impala. His answer, “I know a guy”. Almos turns to his man and says “What did I tell you, he never says no, never says maybe, never says I’ll see what I can do.”
Why am I talking about a movie I just watched? Yesterday I was at a networking meeting and the speaker was discussing referrals. He mentioned the power of a personal recommendation and how it is so much more effective than any advertising you do. It got me thinking about all the people we know in every kind of business there is in LoCo. We didn’t grow up here but have met so many people through golf and youth sports that many of our friends think we did. I can’t tell you how many times people have said something about a high school teacher or coach, assuming we would know who exactly who they were talking about.
My point is this, if you need help with anything, we are here. Need a plumber? I know a guy. How about a great massage therapist? I know a gal. Need a restaurant recommendation? I know a place. Whatever you need we’ve met someone who can help. Just pick up the phone or send us an email, I know a guy.
Cheers,
Mike
