With four kiddos in tow, it’s more than a notion for our family to have a successful trip to the movie theater these days. Considering how many people live in Loudoun County, and how crowded the theaters can get on busy weekends (six seats, all in the same row!) it’s sometimes difficult to make it work. We love going to the movies though, so this past weekend we took the family and some friends from out of town to go see WALL-E at the new Regal Fox theater at Brambleton Town Center in Ashburn.
I was totally impressed! It was my first visit there, and despite the fact that the showing was sold out (as was the one before it) it didn’t feel crowded at all. The entry area is huge, with the ticket counter to the left as you walk in. The snack counter is past the ticket collecting point, so no juggling of food to hand them your ticket as you go through (smart design). It’s a 16 screen theater, and they are currently showing 13 different movies.
We had time to kill before the show started, so we walked to the shops nearby and had ice cream at Coldstone Creamery. There were plenty of restaurants and other shops there too, so we’ll have to go back to try some of those out. It was also exciting to see that Blue Ridge Grill, one of my favorite restaurants in Leesburg, is opening a second location right next to the theater there. Dinner and a movie doesn’t get much better than that!
From Purcellville, where we live, it’s basically the same distance to Brambleton as to the theater at Countryside in Sterling, where we typically go, so for us, Brambleton will be our choice from this point forward!
Cheers,
Heather
P.S. And yes, WALL-E was a huge hit with all four of our kids, who are ages 10, 10, 5 and 4… =)
