I refer to myself not just as a Realtor, but as a career real estate professional. I place a high priority on growing and learning, so that I can provide my clients with the best representation possible. As part of this, I feel a responsibility to contribute to the direction of my profession, and I volunteer my time to sit on committees, teach, and speak nationally. The photo above was taken last November, when I spoke at the National Association of Realtors (NAR) Annual Conference in New Orleans (which was easily the biggest audience to which I’ve had the privilege of speaking.)
It’s an honor to be chosen to serve the Realtor community by serving on committees for our associations, and I just received my appointments for the upcoming year. I’m pretty proud to have been selected, and thought I would share with you:
- 2012 NAR Communications Committee
- 2012 NAR Membership Policy and Board Jurisdiction Committee
- 2012 NAR Young Professionals Network Advisory Subcommittee
- 2012 VAR Information Management Advocacy Group, chair
My hope is to have a positive impact on the future course of my profession, and having a voice within these organizations is an honor. I’ll check in periodically with updates on how it’s going. And part of what NAR exists for is consumer advocacy, so as a homeowner (or potential homeowner) if there are issues you want addressed, please let me know so that I can bring that with me.
Cheers,
Heather
