The Hamlet at Wulf Crest Farm is Steuart-Kret Select Homes’ first foray into Loudoun real estate and they are making a splash. Â I had never heard of the builder, the majority of their communities have been in Maryland, however after stopping by on Super Bowl Sunday and speaking with Tom West, the site sales manager, I’m impressed.
Located on the 117 acre farm of the American Academy of Equestrian Sciences, known for their training programs, theory classes, and the Camp Koda youth program, one of the attractions of this neighborhood is the ability to board a horse on location. Current boarding applications to the equestrian facility with be exclusive to future home owners. Being able to ride on the property and then walk home is certainly a plus for any horse owner.
Nineteen home sites are available ranging from .3 – .6 acres, with 7 models from which to choose. Don’t be deceived by the small lot size, all but two back to pastoral views or woods and give the feel of owning acreage. The model home (a legacy series Ravensworth) is currently under construction and scheduled to open in April.
Standard features which set this builder apart include hardwood throughout the first floor, oak staircase, 9′ ceilings, two-toned paint, and 3 piece crown molding in the living room and dining room. The kitchen showcases a ceramic backsplash, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances with double wall oven, microwave and gas cooktop. Notable construction features are 9′ basement walls, 2×6 exterior walls (which means more insulation and improved energy efficiency), glued and screwed floors (reduces squeaking as the home ages), and a 1,000 gallon propane tank with a 100 gallons to start!
Four base models (pictured below), ranging from 3458 to 3995 square feet, start at $689,900 and go up to $754,900 before adding extras.
Reaching back to the Antebellum period, three brand new designs are being offered for the first time. With 9′ ceilings on all three floors, a spacious den/study, and your option of a wood burning fireplace insert it’s not hard to like any of these homes.
Plans are to start an Augusta model as a spec home with a mid-summer delivery. Want to take a look? Give us a shout and let our personal and professional experience with new constructing go to work for you.
Cheers,
Mike
