For the third year in a row, the Team Joe Golf Tournament will be held at Westpark Golf Club in Leesburg, to benefit the neonatal intensive care unit at Fairfax Hospital. If you haven’t heard of Team Joe, it’s named for Joe Petrella, a vibrant and energetic almost four year old who was blessed with outstanding care at the Fairfax NICU when he was born 12 weeks early in 2006. To help that facility continue to provide outstanding care to babies yet to be born, Denny and Gen Petrella started Team Joe, and to date they have raised over $75,000.
Denny says:
Plans are underway for the construction of a new NICU, and with our help we will fund the completion of a family lounge that will be inside of the new NICU. Our goal is to raise the money needed to furnish “Joe’s Room” and create a nice, comfortable space to help families care for the miracle babies who enter the NICU.
This year’s tournament is on Friday, October 1st, with a 10:15 a.m. shotgun start. While the field is already full for golfers (way to go!!) they can use volunteer help, and are *always* looking for sponsors. If you would like to contribute to Team Joe, there are numerous sponsorship levels.

Hi! I found your blog through TBD’s community promo ad on their website! It’s awesome to see a blogger from my town (I’m from Ashburn!) on the TBD community network. When I went to Stone Bridge I didn’t think Loudoun really offered anything exciting for people in my age group; but now that I’m in college I yearn to be back in the familiar environment from time to time.
Keep up the great work! Looking forward to reading more of your posts and reminiscing about my hometown 🙂

Tauhid,
Thanks so much for stopping by, and for your comment! Glad to hear I can help you stay connected to your hometown…Let me know if there are topics you’d like to read about here that I’m not covering now. I’m always open to suggestion!
Where are you in college? The trees are just starting to turn here and it’s feeling like fall. =)
Cheers,
