Last Friday the girls and I had a chance to visit the Wayside Farm in Berryville. Twenty miles west of Leesburg, it was definitely worth the short trip over the mountain.
Wayside Farm Fun opened for business on September 21, and all accounts are that it has been a success. In addition to a 9 acre pumpkin patch with more varieties than I knew existed, the Shenk and Wegmeyer families have produced a great way to spend some time on the farm with your family. Maddie and Natalie had a blast feeding the animals, running through the corn maze, and playing pumpkin games. They were also able to learn a little about life on the farm, thanks to the fun fact signs next to each activity. Open from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, you can learn more about the farm by visiting their website.
Let’s hope we get a chance to do this again next year, my girls gave it a big thumbs up!
Cheers,
Mike
