How Does Staging Help a Home Sale?

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned in life is timing is everything. If I hadn’t decided a month before graduating from high school to ask the smartest, best looking girl I knew if she would meet me after English class would we have still found each other and made this wonderful life together? You might be thinking, how does this relate to real estate or home staging? Well, I’m glad you asked!

Heather and I are always looking at ways we can better serve the people we help buy and sell homes. Many times we discussed utilizing a home stager for our listings but never pulled the trigger. Heather met Leigh Newport of Staged by Design years ago but for various reasons a professional relationship never developed. Last fall I happened to meet Leigh at a networking function just as we were about to list a home for long time family friends. After a short conversation it was clear we needed to finally give her a shot.

Holy cow was it worth it! My clients followed absolutely every recommendation Leigh made. We put their house on the market January 18th, had three offers above list price in two days, and sold it for almost $40,000 more than the owners had originally hoped. If you’d like to see the finished product check out my post about 611 Stribling Ct.

Not every home has such a success story. I’d encourage you to watch the interview to get some insights on why staging is important and how it can help. We are convinced enough by the results we’ve seen this year to include Leigh’s consultation as part of our listing package. Combined with video, a 3-D tour, and fusion photography our sellers have been able to maximize sales price and minimize time on the market. If you would like to learn more about how we can help do this for you please email Mike@LoCoMusings.com or call/text me at 571-233-5495.

Cheers,
Mike
