For the first time in our 8 year history of writing this post it took at least a $3,000,000 price tag to make the most expensive homes sold in LoCo for 2015. A lot has changed in 12 months as no home this year would have made the cut in 2015. Let’s take a look at the top 5 most expensive homes sold in LoCo for 2016:
18692 Riverlook Ct., Leesburg, VA 20176: $2,200,000
For the first time a home in Lansdowne makes the list. It’s hard to imagine a setting this private in Lansdowne but here it is. Jean Garrell of Keller Williams Realty listed and sold this beauty last July and we can see why. We love the classic design, wide plank hardwood floors and the three wood burning fireplaces. The only thing missing is a more elaborate outdoor living space.
22492 Creighton Farms Drive, Leesburg, VA 20175: $2,500,000
Creighton Farms is becoming a staple community on our list. Lisa Thompson of Hunt Country Sotheby’s International Realty listed this home and Michelle Flood of Keller Williams Realty helped Jordan Reed purchase it. After signing his contact extension last May he put some of the signing bonus to good use scooping up this 9200 square foot mansion! It looks to us as though he could have the whole team over for a party and still have room to spare!
23377 Kirk Branch Road, Middleburg, VA 20117:Â $2,500,000
For 8 years running there has been at least one home from Middleburg in the top 5 sellers. Our largest property with 66 acres, Alix Coolidge of Sheridan-Mac Mahon Ltd. put this one on the market and Jim Thompson of Washington Fine Properties sold it. It’s just what you would expect of an estate home, English gardens, a stream running through the pasture, and 200 year old stone walls.
35453 Millville Road, Middleburg, VA 20117: $2,792,500
The largest home in this year’s top 5 at over 9500 square feet the property included 22 acres and a 3 bedroom guest house. John Coles of Thomas & Talbot Real Estate was the listing agent and Michael DeCarlo of Coldwell Banker helped the buyers. The interior decor and style makes it feel as though you are in the south of France and not Middleburg.
And the most expensive home sold in LoCo for 2016?
17061 Spring Creek Lane, Leesburg, VA: $3,180,000
Considering this home would not have made the list in 2015, it is still one of our all time favorites. Mary Roberge of McEnearney and Associates listed this amazing property and Sean Dunn of Fieldstone Real Estate brought the buyers. A vineyard filled with award winning Chambourcin Grapes occupies five of the 23 acres and is responsible for producing over 15,000 bottles of wine each year. The open French Country concept makes for a cozy feel and there are plenty of reasons to love this home.
Cheers,
Mike
